i'm back! from a short escape to bkk with wen & then meeting up with my lady boss and the directors over there. a short adventure it is considering this is my first overseas trip all by myself with only a friend!

i'm too lazy to load all the pics and most of it is still with my lady boss.. hence, i'll just use words to describe until i finally gotten the pics.

Day 1 was fine.. we boarded an afternoon flight to bkk and met up with the tour guides who brought us to CentralWorld - the biggest mall in bkk for some shopping. was very thrilled by the idea of the 1st big time shopping in bkk but ended up finding that everything was the same as in sg! except it's prolly 5 times bigger than taka. ended up snacking on dunkin' donuts and gourmet coffee which cost ard S$4 in all.

Day 2 - wen and i decided overnight that the irritating thai tour guide is FAR TOO IRRITATING. couldn't stand her talks on ah-guas blasting through the tour bus' speakers even with my ipod full on, i couldn't block out her irritating voice. it got me into a headache and amazes me that she can go on forever with me drifting in and out of naps. we decided to escape from the tour group towards my lady's boss hotel all the way across bkk! what an adventure! we then proceed to the Jatuchuk Weekend market for some shopping.. An eye-opener but nothing much to buy. Then we had a sucky Jap dinner (with a mixture of thai flavour. yuck) and proceeded to the supermarket to do some grocery shopping. followed by a 2 hr traditional thai massage for SGD16! pure bliss.

Day 3 - went to have breakfast at a roadside coffee shop then proceeded to platinum mall led by my lady boss to shop for stuff. then headed to MBK for more shopping. dunno why was it named s'poreans' fave mall - all ah beng stuff! then went to have an absolutely marvellous jap dinner @ Fuji. The steak and salmon is soooo wonderfully good. better than sushi tei i reckon! *melts* then we retired for an early night.

Day 4 - we went for another adventure again! nearly got conned by this cab driver we insist that we 'book' his cab service for half a day @ 1000 baht! crazy if we took the offer! we're not dumb tourists! so off we went to Dusit Zoo to see my albino deer! they had more snakes on display there! yayness! we wanted to visit the 'white' palace next to the zoo but saw that it was all locked up. anyways. we weren't in proper attire to go in. rushed back to the city to do some last min shopping for friends and colleagues. and got a last min call that the dinner with the directors are brought forward. got back to the hotel and changed at top speed before rushing to the italian restaurant for the meal. sat in for a boring yet mind-refreshing marketing strategy meeting before we went to the top notch bangkok state tower club. credits to thai director - lhong! marvellous, marvellous view. would love to stay for a longer time shld i decide to go bkk again. this is the day i enjoyed the most for the whole trip.

Day 5 - woke up early for our morning flight. this time we really got conned by this stupid cabbie driver who played some stupid "hollywood" music.. trance remixes of PCD and what not... gave me a remarkable headache together with the 600baht cab fare. darn the driver!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Vincen's Lodge - affordable, cosy and clean. very good service as well!

Note: it's located in the gay district though.. maybe i'm oblivious.. but i didn't see a lot of gay activities going on ard though.

Good thing abt the trip: my view about bangkok has totally changed from the last time i went there when i was a 10 year old kid. it's 10 times safer than i thought it'd be what with all the horrifying stories.

Bad thing: i don't intend to go back to bkk in another decade. hahaha.
